But Dog Sisters isn’t so much a sequel to The Wind in His Heart as a coda that entwines with the story of Lola Soledad and her family of choice, navigating life as recovering addicts.

Lola is starting to get her life on track but everything changes when she finds the little lost dog Mijo and the edges of the world she knows peel back to reveal another world that is at once strange and dangerous and filled with wonder.
